"It happened very, very quickly, which is pleasing for everyone."
He told Sunderland Echo.
The Ivorian joined in the summer but struggled to make an impact, scoring one goal and supplying one assist in 15 outings across all competitions. Without a regular starting berth under Regis Le Bris, he completed a move to AS Monaco earlier this week, initially on loan with an option of a permanent agreement.
Sunderland responded by signing Ecuadorian international Nilson Angulo from Anderlecht for a base fee of £15 million, with a further £2.5 million in potential add-ons. Before arriving in England, the 22-year-old produced six goals and seven assists in 22 Belgian top-flight appearances this season.
"I think that just sums up the recruitment at Sunderland. It’s been very strategic."
"They’ve always got a plan in place. They’ve always got a back-up. So they certainly wouldn’t have let Adingra go unless they had a replacement."
"Adingra, I think he’s kind of flattered to deceive at times this season. I don’t think there are a lot of supporters who are disappointed he’s gone away, gone on loan to try and rediscover some form."
"But the lad Nilson is coming in. He’s an unknown entity, but from reading reports on how he looks, a really exciting talent. So, really good business from Sunderland and sensible as well."
