Few can deny the size and scope of a club like West Ham within the annals of British football, but 2025-26 is thus far proving to be a season to forget for the Hammers.
Once the club of legendary names like Bobby Moore, Martin Peters, Geoff Hurst, Rio Ferdinand, and Frank Lampard, West Ham are in the thick of an early relegation scrap under new boss Nuno Espírito Santo, coming into tonight's clash sitting in the bottom three and in need of a big result.

Already two-nil down tonight on the road at Elland Road against Daniel Farke's Leeds, the Hammers' frailties at the back have once again been ruthlessly exposed in the wake of Brenden Aaronson's early opener, when Joe Rodon headed home from a corner to double their lead.
With that headed effort from the Welsh international defender, it was the ninth occasion in the Premier League this season that West Ham have conceded from a corner; six more than any other side in the English top flight.
Should this and other trends continue without being properly addressed, supporters may be faced with an unthinkable prospect come May.
