Kaizer Chiefs forward Khanyisa Mayo has highlighted the advantage Siwelele FC have ahead of the two teams' league meeting.
The Soweto giants host the newly rebranded outfit at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday (19h30), on the back of a CAF Confederation Cup outing in Lubumbashi over the weekend.
With the clash on the horizon, the former Cape Town City talisman is braced for a tough test and believes Siwelele have a slight advantage, having gotten ample rest before the match.
“I think it's going to be a tough one [because] every team that plays against Chiefs wants to prove themselves that they are better than the players that are playing at Kaizer Chiefs,” said Mayo.
"But it's not going to be an easy game because they had rest and we only managed [to have] three or four days prior to the game.
While he acknowledges the Bloemfontein-based outfit is well-rested, Mayo urged his teammates to rise above fatigue and jet lag as they aim to maintain their residence in the top half of the table.
“But it's not about the rest, it's about us preparing mentally, to say even though we came from DRC but we have to prepare for the next game and it won't be easy for us,” he added.
"So, I think the spirit is up and everyone is ready for the game because we also want to be competing in the league, not to shy away from worrying about the CAF Confederation Cup but to also be winning in the league to cement our position at the top.
Amakhosi head into the match sitting in fourth place with 15 points from eight league outings, while Siwelele languish in 14th place, having amassed seven points in nine games.
