Newly arrived at Palmeiras, right-back Khellven is experiencing a special moment at the club. After returning from a period away and quickly establishing himself as a starter, the player has become a key piece in recent matches — including the assist against Flamengo. Now, he dreams of repeating his 2022 achievement, when he reached the Libertadores final playing for Athletico-PR, but this time wearing the Verdão jersey.

In an exclusive interview with NOSSO PALESTRA, the right-back showed confidence and spoke about his expectations for the match that could put Verdão back in the continental final.

The expectations are high. We know how big this match is and how important it is for our group and for the fans. I’ve already had the opportunity to play in a Libertadores semifinal and I know how much these games demand focus and commitment from start to finish. Now, wearing the Palmeiras shirt, I want to put that experience to use for the team, helping in every way I can both on and off the field. The group is very strong and united, and we are working to play two great matches and secure a spot in the final.

In addition to his experience in the competition, the right-back has also reunited with an old acquaintance in the Verdão squad: Vitor Roque, with whom he formed a standout duo at Athletico. The partnership, now renewed at Palmeiras, has proven important both on and off the pitch.

The relationship with Vitor is very good, both on and off the field. We had already played together at Athletico, and here at Palmeiras he was one of the guys who made my integration with the rest of the team much easier. It’s great to be able to meet him again. I’m happy to be by his side once more, now defending Palmeiras and aiming for great achievements together.

With consistent performances and a strong personality, Khellven quickly earned his place under Abel Ferreira’s command. The right-back now sets his sights on the next challenge, determined to help Verdão reach another Libertadores final.
