Khephren Thuram reveals Inter star Marcus was ‘proud’ of him after the 4-3 thriller with Juventus, especially as he finally scored a header. ‘Both he and my father tell me I’m not good with my head.’

It was a particularly special Derby d’Italia battle between two brothers, with their father Lilian watching on in the stands.

While both of them had something to celebrate by scoring with headers, it was Marcus whose Inter ended up empty-handed in a 4-3 defeat at the Allianz Juventus Stadium.

Marcus notably did not celebrate after scoring to give Inter the lead, whereas Khephren was rather more animated after the equaliser, which he didn’t realise would lead to the Vasilije Adzic screamer to win at the 91st minute.

“He told me with his eyes well done, because he’s a great brother as well as a great brother. He was proud of me,” Khephren Thuram told DAZN Italia.

“Both he and my father tell me I’m not good with my head and should score more headers, so I was glad to score with my head today!”

Lilian must’ve been very proud watching on in the stands too, where he is ever-present for both his sons during their Serie A career.

“It was difficult for us, because Inter are a great team, they have very strong midfielders who move well off the ball. It means we have to run more, and we did it, so we’re happy with the victory.”

There was another odd moment where the Ref Cam, which was used in Serie A for the first time ever today, captured official Andrea Colombo telling the brothers off for their pushing ahead of a set play.
