Daley-Campbell came through Arsenal before moving to Leicester in 2019. He debuted at 19, playing the full 90 minutes in an FA Cup fifth round win over Brighton as the Foxes later lifted the trophy.

He made nine Scottish Premiership appearances on loan at Dundee in 2022, then had spells at Cardiff City and Peterborough United before joining Chesterfield in August 2024. He totalled 35 appearances across two seasons, registering three assists in 2025/26.

Daley-Campbell said that when Dyer called to say there could be an opportunity, he wanted the move immediately, adding he is delighted it is done and eager to play in front of the fans.

Dyer said he knows the defender well, believes he is comfortable at the level above, and praised his pace, power and energy as Southend aim to return to the Football League.
