Kingdom Holding Company has completed the purchase of a 70 per cent stake in Al-Hilal Club Company from the Public Investment Fund for 840 million riyals, after all regulatory and internal conditions were met.
The club said in a statement that the acquisition had been completed. The transaction closed on 1 September 2026 following the receipt of necessary approvals and no-objection statements.
Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal chairs the Kingdom Holding board, which now holds the majority, with the Public Investment Fund retaining 30 per cent. The deal values Al-Hilal Club Company’s equity at 1.2 billion riyals, implying a 70 per cent price of 840 million riyals. At announcement in April, total enterprise value stood at about 1.4 billion riyals.
The share purchase and sale agreement was signed on 16 April 2026, with closing roughly four and a half months later. The consideration remained unchanged from earlier disclosures and no extra costs were attached.
Under the deal, Kingdom Holding will support Al-Hilal’s commercial performance, expand international partnerships and continue developing infrastructure to global standards. The move sits within a wider club investment programme launched in July 2023 that also involved Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli and Al-Nassr.
