Giorgi Kochorashvili is close to becoming a Sevilla player after a decisive meeting aimed at ending the saga. As reported by as.com, Sevilla are set to pay around €four million plus add-ons to Sporting de Portugal.

The player is expected to travel to Andalucía in the coming hours, and it is not ruled out that he makes the squad for Saturday’s LaLiga trip to Athletic at San Mamés.

Kocho was not called up for the first two Primeira Liga rounds against Vitoria Guimarães and Estrela Amadora, underlining Sporting’s limited desire to keep him. Os Leoes have held firm, refusing a purchase option tied to objectives.

Luis García Plaza and sporting director José Ignacio Navarro did not want to wait much longer, so the deal is now practically resolved. Sevilla also aim to accelerate their window with at least one more midfielder and another striker.

Navarro is creating room in the budget, with arrivals of Odysseas, Fran González, Juan Iglesias, Julio Díaz, Sanganté, Guridi and Scottish forward Robbie Ure already sealed, with Kochorashvili set to follow. Centre-back Marcao appears open to leaving if a suitable offer arrives, which could allow another defender to come in.

Potential sales of Lucien Agoumé or Rubén Vargas would provide scope to bring in another pivot, with Tunisian Ellyes Shkiri favoured, plus a higher-profile striker and possibly another winger. There are 12 days left of a very busy window in Nervión.
