Köln to release El Mala if Dortmund submit €55m bid as AC Milan wait in wings | OneFootball

If Borussia Dortmund submits the reported €55million offer for said El Mala, 1.FC Köln, will apparently release the player from the club. 

According to the Express, sporting director Thomas Kessler has made this promise to El Mala and his representatives.

However, those close to the club in Köln are apparently unsure whether Borussia Dortmund can even afford such an offer.

"The offers received so far have been so low that some are saying Dortmund simply doesn't have the required €50million available," the tabloid reported.

El Mala remains Dortmund's absolute top target. The talented left winger also wants to join the German runners-up and has already agreed to a five-year contract. 

Only the agreement with Cologne is still pending, but this is expected to be achieved through the new offer.

Meanwhile, another interested party is lurking in the background, with the Express suggesting AC Milan intends to make a move if BVB fails.
