Coming off an exhausting 2-1 Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich now turn their attention to Saturday’s Bundesliga clash with 1. FC Union Berlin.
After resting key players such as Luis Diaz, Michael Olise and Harry Kane in the 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen prior to the trip to Paris, could Bayern coach Vincent Kompany rotate his squad again?
“We'll see who plays tomorrow. There's always the question: ‘When do the players take a break?' And when they take a break, the question is: ‘Why are they taking a break?'” Kompany said at his pre-match press conference.
“We always look at the signals from their bodies, but if they are good, have recovered well, are fit, and ready for the next game, we take that on board. So we'll wait and see.”
Apart from Raphael Guerreiro, Kompany has no fresh injury concerns.
“Only Raphaël Guerreiro has a few complaints after the Leverkusen game, so we've gone a bit easier on him as a precaution,” he added.
The game at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei kicks off on Saturday at 15:30 CET.
