Kone not a priority for Man United, could stay at Roma | OneFootball

On August 10th, Manu Koné will be available again for Gian Piero Gasperini.

The Frenchman is almost finished with his postponed World Cup vacation.

However, the Giallorossi number 17 wasn’t certain he’d stay in the capital until recently. Manchester United seemed ready to make a serious move for the Roma player.

The club hasn’t closed the door on a possible transfer if they receive a reasonable offer, but so far, no concrete offer has been made at Trigoria. And the Red Devils could withdraw due to internal divisions.

As reported by English journalist Ben Jacobs, Manchester United’s head of scouting is pushing to bring Koné to Michael Carrick’s court, but the manager himself is dampening enthusiasm.

The former England midfielder, however, would prefer someone else, one with Premier League experience or a higher caliber.

The deal is therefore currently on hold, and it’s possible that the 2001-born player’s move to the Red Devils could be definitively frozen in the next few hours. To Gasperini’s delight, the Frenchman could therefore remain in Rome.
