Reliable media sources have revealed a new development regarding the future of Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly with Saudi club Al-Hilal.
According to Saudi daily Arriyadiyah, published this Wednesday, the management of the "Blue Club" is considering activating the option to extend the player's contract for an additional season.
The newspaper reports that Italian coach Simone Inzaghi has explicitly recommended to the board to keep Koulibaly, especially after finalizing the renewal of Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves' contract.
The current contract of the Senegalese defender expires at the end of this season. However, a clause allows for a one-year extension, which the management now intends to activate.
At 34, Koulibaly joined Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023 from Chelsea. Since his arrival at the "Zaeem," he has played 110 matches across all competitions, scoring 6 goals and providing 5 assists.
With Al-Hilal, Koulibaly has won the Saudi Pro League, the King’s Cup, and the Saudi Super Cup twice.
