Sunderland have been linked with a possible double move late in the window, with Paris FC winger Ilan Kebbal and Lecce left-back Antonino Gallo among targets. According to Sunderland Echo, the Black Cats are assessing attacking and defensive options across Europe.

Kebbal, 27, has 7 goals and 5 assists in 19 games this season and has been at the Africa Cup of Nations. Ipswich Town are understood to be weighing an ambitious £10million offer as they seek Championship reinforcements.

Sunderland, Fulham, Crystal Palace and West Ham have all been credited with interest, though Ipswich are described as the most proactive. The report adds that Kebbal is seen as a potential source of creativity and end product for a promotion push.

On the defensive side, Sunderland are among the clubs tracking Gallo, with Celtic also monitoring. The 26-year-old has been a steady performer for Lecce since 2020, amassing 175 senior appearances with one goal and 10 assists.

Sunderland’s link to a left-back follows Arthur Masuaku’s departure, although Régis Le Bris still has options on that flank, including Reinildo Mandava and Dennis Cirkin. Celtic’s interest is said to relate to cover amid Marcelo Saracchi’s injury issues.

No deals are close, but the situation remains fluid and could shift before the deadline. The club’s approach appears to balance opportunism with caution amid external interest complicating the market.
