Eintracht Frankfurt board member for sport Markus Krösche declined to clarify Albert Riera’s position, leaving the head coach’s future open.

Per DPA, when asked if the 2-2 draw with VfB Stuttgart was Riera’s final game in charge, Krösche said he would not discuss personnel matters.

Eintracht finished eighth in the Bundesliga and missed out on European qualification. Krösche said he wanted time to let matters sink in before an analysis, after which the club would decide how to proceed.

Riera took charge at the end of January and has faced criticism since, including over clashes with players and the media.

Krösche acknowledged the circumstances had not been easy for Riera.
