Luís Castro is expected to trial midfielder Krovinovic on the left flank for Grêmio’s meeting with Vasco, with Pavon suspended and wide men Amuzu and Jovane Cabral doubtful with muscle problems. According to Globo.com, the squad will reconvene for training on Wednesday.
After the defeat to Vitória, Castro said Krovinovic would offer a different profile out wide, noting the Croatian has operated there previously. Up to now he has been used inside on the left of midfield alongside Villasanti.
Beyond Krovinovic, the coach has only two natural options for the role, Enamorado, who came on in the second half against Vitória, and Tetê, a starter. Amuzu and Jovane Cabral did not travel to Bahia.
Castro confirmed on Monday that the Ghanaian has an injury, without disclosing specifics. The Cape Verdean has been out longer with a muscle issue, and both are under assessment to determine whether they can return.
Grêmio face Vasco at 16:00 on Saturday at the Arena in the 27th round of the Brasileirão. It is a direct relegation fight, with the Tricolor 15th on 28 points, three ahead of the Rio club, who are the first team in the Z-4.
