Leeds United moved nine points clear of 18th-placed Tottenham Hotspur with a dominant 3-1 win over Burnley, a major step towards safety.
According to yorkshireevenpost.co.uk, there was no FA Cup semi-final hangover, Anton Stach striking from 25 yards inside eight minutes. Noah Okafor volleyed in on 52 minutes and Dominic Calvert-Lewin soon made it 3-0 from close range.
Burnley replied through Loum Tchaouna but Leeds managed the closing stages comfortably. Pre-match worries about breaking a low block were eased by Stach, who cushioned Jaka Bijol's line-breaking pass then beat Martin Dubravka at his near post.
It was Stach's fourth Premier League goal from outside the box this season, no player has more, with Liverpool's Dominic Szoboszlai and Manchester City's Antoine Semenyo level. The 6ft 4ins midfielder impressed again and is pushing a strong Player of the Season case.
Leeds set the tone after Wembley by controlling from kick-off. The opener was their 24th first-half goal of the campaign, bettered only by Arsenal and Manchester City, and Friday's interval score would have had them sixth in a first-half table.
The result lifted Daniel Farke's side above Newcastle United into 14th. Chairman Paraag Marathe said in the summer anything above 18th would be 'gravy', but with survival close Leeds can chase a higher finish across the final three games. Stach said the last three matches matter, that the mood is good, and he hoped for more wins with the fans.
