Wednesday is full of MLS teams in action, including the Los Angeles Galaxy. However, it's not for the 2025 regular season race or playoff positioning. Instead, the two teams that did battle in last year's MLS Western Conference Finals meet again in another semifinal match.
The winner goes on to play for the 2025 Leagues Cup championship on Saturday. The loser will play in the Third-Place Match against either Orlando City SC or Inter Miami.
In the last meeting between the Los Angeles Galaxy and the Seattle Sounders, things did not go so well for the defending MLS Cup winners. The Galaxy lost 4-0 at home to the Sounders earlier this month.

According to Jayda Evans, a Seattle Times staff reporter, "Sounders forward Danny Musovski was suspended for the remainder of the Leagues Cup tournament for contact with referee Juan Gabriel Calderon during Seattle’s quarterfinal win Wednesday. The incident happened in the 76th minute after Musovski was shown a yellow card for a foul.
Musovski has 13 goals during the MLS regular season, but scored just once during Phase One of the Leagues Cup tournament. The 29-year-old forward committed five fouls in the Knockout Round against Puebla before his ejection.
LA Galaxy goalkeeper Novak Micovic may be at ease without the aggressive scorer being on the field. In the four Leagues Cup matches so far, the Serbia goalie has allowed just four goals, as two of those came in the first game against Club Tijuana.

So far, the Los Angeles Galaxy seem to be on a revenge tour. After taking care of business against Pachuca in the Knockout Round, a team that defeated the six-time MLS Cup champions during international play in 2007, the Galaxy won a second grudge match last week.
Last weekend, the LA Galaxy avenged their 2-0 road loss back in June against the Colorado Rapids. On the heels (and cleats) of some new faces, the Galaxy won 3-0. Harbor Miller and Elijah Wynder scored their first-ever MLS goals in that game.
That's two teams the LA Galaxy previously lost to that they won against this month. The Seattle Sounders could make for a third team. After all, they are the ones to eliminate the reigning MLS Cup champions from last year's Leagues Cup tournament.
Kickoff is 7:45 PT and 9:45 CT on Wednesday night in Carson, California. The winner plays for first place and the loser plays for third on Saturday.
