FC Barcelona will play their second game at the new Spotify Camp Nou on Saturday when they host Deportivo Alaves.

The Blaugrana reopened their iconic stadium to fans partially last weekend with the game against Athletic Club, which they won 4-0.

However, there were no tickets allocated for away fans for the game, with only a handful of Athletic Club supporters making it thanks to the club giving away passes meant for the immediate environment of players and the manager.

Away fans to be present for Alaves clash

Now, though, according to SPORT, La Liga has approved the return of away fans to the Camp Nou for Saturday’s clash against Alaves.

A La Liga commission visited Camp Nou earlier today. After the inspection, it gave the green light for away supporters to be present in the stands for the match.

Barça had provided Alaves with a total of 470 tickets, and this afternoon informed them of La Liga’s decision.

The away fans will be located in the second tier, in an area near the Gol Nord corner and belonging to the Lateral stand.

The current capacity of Spotify Camp Nou is 45,000, occupying the first and second tiers of the Lateral, Tribuna and Gol Sud areas.

The club expect that early next year the Gol Nord section will also be opened. It is in this sector that the Mossos d’Esquadra have indicated the away supporters should be located, as evacuation is easier from that area.

A UEFA delegation will also be present at the match against Alaves. It will examine the Spotify Camp Nou ahead of the Champions League match between Barcelona and Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December, the first European fixture in the new stadium.

After all, on that day, the representation of the German club’s supporters will be much larger.
