Most of the time, players retrace their career steps during the twilight of their playing years. Adam Lallana did the same, returning to Southampton after enjoying a successful decade in the Premier League.

On the other hand, a club return could also provide a change of scenery. Recently, Ben Brereton Diaz joined Sheffield United again after enduring a tough start to life at Southampton.

Further, Diaz may not be the only Saint to mark a club return in January.

According to a report from Estadio Deportivo, Sevilla are interested in resigning Southampton U21 left-back Juan Larios.

Honestly, Larios has had a weird journey at Southampton. The Spaniard joined the club from Manchester City and immediately started getting a few chances in the first team.

Later, the Saints were relegated and Larios also sustained a long-term injury. Thus, he didn't get any loan opportunities to gain more experience.

Currently, the defender is playing for Southampton's U21 team so as to get some playing time.

On top of that, Southampton have a wealth of left-back options in the senior team. As a result, Larios' progress has been stunted and the 21-year-old needs to make a wise career decision.

Luckily, Sevilla appears to be a perfect destination for Larios to revitalize his playing career. Larios has already spent his early teenage years at Sevilla where he became a defensive prodigy.

This could happen again if Larios grabs the chance with both hands. At 21-years-old, Larios must play regularly at the top level to become a renowned left-back.

Something, which is looking rather difficult at Southampton. Hopefully, Larios joins Sevilla in January, even on a loan.
