Julian Alvarez is increasingly becoming one of the most talked-about forwards in Europe, and naturally, Barcelona’s interest has only intensified the spotlight on his future.
The Atletico Madrid striker has now addressed that growing noise, making it clear that even though the attention is significant, it is not something that disturbs him.
His calm persona comes at a time when Barcelona are working to shape their squad for next season, with a new centre-forward high on the agenda.
It is to be noted that the Catalan club are approaching a moment of transition.
Robert Lewandowski’s contract runs only until 2026, and by then, he will be close to turning 38.
While Barça have not yet made a final decision regarding the Polish striker, the feeling inside the club suggests that both parties may go their separate ways at the end of the current campaign.
That possible departure would create a major vacancy in the forward line, a position Barcelona cannot afford to leave unattended.
This is why Barcelona are studying the market carefully, and Alvarez is one of the names that has naturally climbed to the top of their list.

The challenge, however, lies in the financial package required. Atletico tied the Argentine down until 2030, meaning any negotiations would begin at a very high price point.
When speaking to MARCA, Alvarez showed maturity and composure when confronted with questions about Barcelona’s supposed interest.
He responded directly when asked whether the speculation bothered him. He stated, “Look, it doesn’t bother me.
“I try not to pay too much attention, but I know people are talking. They talk on social media. I think there’s more talk than what’s actually happening.
“I’m very focused on this season, on what lies ahead with Atletico Madrid.
“So, I try to ignore it and focus on myself, on continuing to grow as a player and on winning.”
Notably, Alvarez was a lifelong admirer of Barcelona during his childhood, largely inspired by Lionel Messi.
In fact, old interviews from his youth show him expressing a dream of one day playing for the Catalan giants.
