Last month, Real Madrid submitted a dossier to UEFA as part of their plans to seek punishment for Barcelona over the Negreira case. The club, spearheaded by president Florentino Perez, believe their arch rivals committed wrongdoing during the period in which they made payments to former Referee’s Committee vice-president Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, and they are also appearing as an injured party in the ongoing legal case.

At this stage, UEFA are not prepared to rule on the dossier, while La Liga president Javier Tebas has now criticised the move made by Real Madrid during comments made during a press conference this week (via MD).

“I have not seen it yet, but I really want to read it. I want to see since what year they complain, if they complain about the mistakes that have been made with all the clubs, including Real Madrid itself. If anyone can’t complain about refereeing errors, it’s Real Madrid.”

Tebas: Of course I would attend Real Madrid inauguration

Tebas was also asked whether he would be willing to speak at a Real Madrid presidential inauguration, as he did with Barcelona earlier this week – an event that Joan Laporta used to take aim at Perez and the Bernabeu club.

“If it were an inauguration, of course I would go, I would take the floor and of course I would say the same thing I said yesterday. That there are periods of differences, complicated, that each one defends certain circumstances, but the important thing is to work with respect for the institutions. In fact, every weekend I am invited to the box, but for personal reasons I do not go, because I have family issues to attend to.”

Real Madrid are unlikely to regard Tebas’ comments, and they will continue to push towards seeking any sort of punishment for Barcelona over the Negreira case.
