La Liga rivals eyeing deal for Real Madrid star | OneFootball

A member of the defensive ranks at Real Madrid has made his way onto the transfer radar of a fellow La Liga club.

That’s according to Fichajes, who point towards Raúl Asencio as the player in question.

The name of stopper Asencio has of course emerged as a prominent one in the media headlines in Spain’s capital over recent days.

This come after the 22-year-old enjoyed a stellar return to form.

After coming in for criticism for the level of several of his recent performances, Asencio nothing short of dazzled en route to Real Madrid putting Juventus to the sword in the Champions League.

As much came as a timely reminder of the youngster’s stellar talents when firing on all cylinders.

And as alluded to above, such exploits evidently did not go unnoticed across the Spanish football landscape.

As per a report from Fichajes, with Real Madrid expected to bring in at least one new central defender for the 2026/27 campaign:

‘In La Liga, several clubs have already set their sights on Asencio. Villarreal appears to be a viable option, given their need to strengthen their defense and want for promising young players.’
