La Louvière midfielder Lucas Bretelle is expected at Le Mans to complete a move, with a contract running to June 2027 planned.

According to L'Équipe, the 23-year-old is expected to travel to Sarthe early next week to finalise a free transfer from La Louvière that includes a sell-on percentage. Promoted Le Mans are fourth in Ligue 2 at the winter break and still in the Coupe de France, and this would be their first signing of the window.

A former Lorient academy player, Bretelle made his name at Orléans in National, recording 73 appearances between 2021 and 2025.

He moved to Belgium last summer after a long lay-off with a right ankle injury, a malleolus fracture suffered in March, joining RAAL La Louvière, newly promoted to the Jupiler Pro League.

His game time there has been limited to one league outing, 13 minutes in November, and one cup appearance, 90 minutes in October. While at Orléans he featured in the 1-4 Coupe de France defeat on 20 January 2024, facing Vitinha.
