Spanish giants Barcelona have been slammed for allowing one of their players to eventually join Chelsea on a permanent deal.
It took this player a while to get from Barcelona to Chelsea, but he got there eventually, through two other clubs.
Chelsea literally ripped Barcelona apart in the Champions League on Wednesday night, thrashing them 3-0 at Stamford Bridge. It was a terrible performance by the visitors, but the home side literally ran riot and made Barcelona look very average.
And now, the Barcelona press are slamming the club for allowing Marc Cucurella to leave the club when he was in the academy. But it sounds like they just didn’t rate him enough to keep him and have some faith in him when he was a youngster.

Thursday’s Mundo Deportivo states that Cucurella was outstanding and won the battle against Lamine Yamal in midweek. They claim his performance showed that Barca ‘failed to appreciate his potential’.
Mundo states: ‘[Cucurella’s] evolution is reminiscent of the path of Carles Puyol, a role model for him, not only because of the aesthetic of long hair, but also because of his competitive character: intensity, fight, grit and the conviction to never give up.’
Thursday’s edition of Sport claims manager at the time Ernest Valverde never showed faith in Cucurella.
‘He’s stubborn. He kept working and once again demonstrated that competitive spirit he has. In his first season, he had three managers, and curiously, he started playing at right-back under Pochettino. But it was Maresca who took him to the next level at the elite level,’ a source close to him told Sport.
The newspaper adds Barcelona ‘lacked patience with a full-back who, like Puyol, has the character of those special players who make a group of footballers into a team.’
