LAFC have acquired midfielder Sergio Vásquez from Ecuadorian Serie A side Orense SC, the club announced Tuesday.

The 22-year-old Ecuadorian is under contract through the 2029-30 season with an option for 2030-31. He will occupy U22 Initiative and international roster spots.

Vásquez has recorded five goals and seven assists in 91 appearances for Orense across all competitions.

"We are excited to welcome Sergio to LAFC," said LAFC president of soccer operations John Thorrington. "Sergio is a talented young midfielder whose intensity, versatility, and quality on the ball align well with how we want to play.

"He has built a strong foundation in Ecuador, and we believe our environment will allow him to continue developing while contributing to our pursuit of trophies. We are grateful to the leadership at Orense and Sergio’s representatives for their professionalism and collaboration throughout the process."

Vásquez is the Black & Gold's third summer addition, following defender Yevhen Cheberko and former Bayern Munich forward Armindo Sieb.

LAFC currently sit third in the Western Conference (35 points) in their first season under head coach Marc Dos Santos.
