Barcelona’s defeat ended nine straight league wins, though they remain top. They had not dropped points since 26 October, when they beat Real Madrid 2-1 at the Bernabéu.

Kylian Mbappé converted a penalty in the 2-0 win over Levante, moving to 19 goals in 18 games. He has scored in 14 of them.

Osasuna beat Oviedo 3-2, their three wins in the last 12 all at El Sadar. Valencia’s first away victory came at the 10th attempt, and Osasuna and Elche remain winless on the road.
