Rafa Mir has passed his medical with Sevilla FC’s first team as pre-season begins, with early July bringing the World Cup’s decisive phase and almost two months of the window remaining.

According to Superdeporte, the 29-year-old striker has one year left on his deal at the Sánchez Pizjuán and Sevilla FC intend to move him on, as in the past two seasons.

He spent those campaigns on loan at Valencia CF and Elche CF. With a court ruling under appeal, the club is proceeding cautiously.

Elche did not exercise their 4 million option to buy. Sevilla FC are waiting for an overseas offer to recover part of the 16 million they invested in his signing.

Mir scored eight goals in 27 LaLiga matches under Eder Sarabia, a return that could aid his market abroad.
