Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, at this point, constitute world football’s most dangerous wing-pairing.

Starting for Luis de La Fuente’s Spain at just 16 and 21 years of age respectively, the young duo have terrorised opposition defences and have led the charge for their national team.

Given his impeccable form in recent times, Williams has appeared on Barcelona’s wish list for the summer and it is one of every fan’s dreams at this point to see him join forces Yamal next season at club level.

Yamal invites his compatriot

It is no secret that Yamal and Williams enjoy playing with each other, especially considering that their profiles perfectly complement each other.

Yamal, in fact, has revealed in the past as well that he relishes the experience of playing with the Athletic Club star.

Now, in a breaking update, the Barcelona sensation has spoken once more about his partnership with the Spanish phenom, this time seemingly inviting him to join Barcelona.

“I would like to play with Nico Williams next season,” he said, as revealed by El Chiringuito TV.

Barcelona’s priority operation

Williams’ back-to-back masterclasses for Spain have only furthered Joan Laporta’s pre-existing desire to sign him this summer.

He is now said to be Barcelona’s top transfer target for this summer, although a move will be anything but easy.

However, Barcelona’s financial situation demands a massive sale before the Spanish sensation’s signing can be finalised. Raphinha currently appears to be the pawn likely to be traded.

Williams’ current release clause stands at €58 million, a bargain for a player of his quality. His signing is thus realistic, but Barcelona must first focus on a big departure and seal the transaction before the competition gets ahead of them.
