In a major boost for the Spain national team, FC Barcelona teenage superstar Lamine Yamal has returned to training with the group ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 18-year-old sensation has been out of action for the past month or so due to a hamstring injury, but has now resumed training with the team.
Lamine is one of Spain’s most important players heading into the World Cup and his presence will be pivotal for La Roja, who are considered one of the favourites to win the tournament.
The 18-year-old winger is coming on the back of another spectacular season with Barcelona, having managed 24 goals and 18 assists from 45 matches in all competitions.
His exemplary displays earned him the honour of being named the La Liga Player of the Year for 2025/26, while putting him in contention for the Ballon d’Or once again.
Spain will kick off their World Cup campaign on June 15 against Cape Verde at the Atlanta Stadium in the USA.
And, everything suggests that Lamine will be ready for the opening fixture for Luis de la Fuente’s side.

Despite his return to training, Spain and Barcelona have agreed that no risks will be taken with Lamine’s recovery and return.
The idea is to ease him back into action gradually after a month out to ensure that he reaches the knockout stages of the competition in tip-top shape physically.
As such, it is unlikely that he will feature from the start against Cape Verde this week and might even find himself being used as a substitute in the second game against Saudi Arabia as well.
