FC Barcelona are looking to sign a new striker this summer, and it seems to be at the top of their priority list as well. As of right now, Argentinean forward Julian Alvarez seems to be the name that they are most interested in.

In recent days, several Barça players have even been asked to give their respective opinions about the Atletico Madrid striker. Players such as Pedri and Pau Cubarsi, for instance, have already given their thoughts on the possibility of the player joining the club.

However, perhaps the most notable comment yet has just been made recently. Lamine Yamal, Barça’s main man and the one person who would likely benefit the most from the arrival of a top striker this summer, recently shared his thoughts on Alvarez as well.

However, he decided to stay as neutral on the topic as possible, ultimately deciding to conclude his statement by saying that it was a matter for the clubs and not him:

“This is in the club’s hand, not on me.”

Still, what Yamal said speaks volumes in its own right. Despite producing elite numbers and carrying this Barcelona side at times when needed, the arrival of a player like Alvarez is something that Yamal would really appreciate, and Barça needs to ensure that they can get the most out of the young winger by pairing him up with an elite finisher.

As of right now, progress is certainly being made when it comes to the Alvarez transfer. Recently, Barcelona president Joan Laporta even dropped some hints publicly
