PSV’s Noa Lang was quick to suggest that it wasn’t a coincidence that he scored in the 34th minute against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night, as he took to social media after the game. His good friend Abdelhak Nouri wore number 34 during his time with the Ajax first team.

Lang scored the game’s opener for PSV in the 34th minute of Champions League action at the Parc des Princes with a superbly struck shot into the bottom-left corner after dancing onto his right foot.

Following the draw in Paris, the star man for the Eindhoven team was confident his goal arriving in that minute was more than a mere coincidence.

‘For Appie, it had to be. #34’, Lang wrote in an Instagram story, in which he mentioned Nouri’s Instagram account.

Ismael Saibari, who plays for PSV with number 34, responded to Lang’s story: ‘Echt Zo’ or ‘truly’ in English. Saibari is another that maintains a good relationship with the family of Nouri, who suffered serious brain damage after a tragic cardiac arrest in 2017.
