The Canaries' stance on a move for the Belgian has reportedly emerged

Norwich City are preparing for a first full season under the management of Philippe Clement, who will hope to continue riding the large wave of momentum he was able to generate throughout the second half of the 2025/26 campaign at Carrow Road.

The Canaries were staring at the potential prospect of having to battle against an unwanted relegation to League One at the time of his appointment in November, but they were soon able to shoot up the second tier standings from December onwards, despite even losing the services of former Championship goalscoring supremo, Josh Sargent, to Toronto FC in February.

The East Anglian outfit and Southampton were, ultimately, the two form sides in the division from the turn of the year, meaning they ended the season in ninth place, just eight points behind eventual play-off winners, Hull City.

Many have argued that the 2026/27 Championship season, on paper, is one of the strongest 24-team lineups the league has seen for some time, especially with the trio of West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley being relegated from the Premier League.

It has also been well-documented that the upcoming season will generate further intrigue as a result of an expanded play-off format, which will see the sides from third down to eighth compete for eventual success at Wembley Stadium, as well as the newly-introduced Squad Cost Rules, meaning clubs can only spend up to 85% of the money they generate.

As such, clubs like Norwich, under the ownership of Mark Attanasio, will hope to make the necessary squad changes through a savvy recruitment model.

And, with the summer transfer window looming large, a truth has emerged over heavy links with Leeds United's Largie Ramazani.

Norwich City's 'interest' in Leeds United winger Largie Ramazani revealed as Valencia eye permanent transfer

Ramazani is, of course, no stranger to the Championship in recent times, having won the division as part of Leeds United's 2024/25 squad under former Norwich boss, Daniel Farke, who made it three second tier title wins for himself in the process after two successes on said front at Carrow Road.

The Whites invested a reported €11m (£9.5m) into his services in the summer of 2024 from Spanish outfit Almeria, with the winger putting pen-to-paper on a lengthy four-year deal in the process.

Despite being viewed as an initial replacement for current West Ham and Netherlands international, Crysencio Summerville, Ramazani is still yet to fully showcase why the aforementioned eight-figure fee was parted with from a Leeds perspective.

After scoring six times in 29 Championship outings - only seven of which were from the starting lineup - he would move to La Liga outfit, Valencia, on loan, where he has scored six times again and provided a further assist.

Yet, despite Norwich investing in Canadian winger, Ali Ahmed, in January, it was reported by the Pink'Un in late May that the 25-year-old could be a target to watch out for in the coming months.

However, after further reports emerged that Valencia CEO, Ron Gourlay, has travelled to England to make advances on permanent deals, which include Ramazani, with Leeds wanting a reported £10m deal, Chris Reeve of Talk Norwich City has added further detail to the transfer saga.

Taking to X on Wednesday, June 3rd, he said: "Understand there is nothing in the links with Ramazani and Norwich City.

"One to cross off your list, yellows."

Norwich City have been linked with further wing targets amid Largie Ramazani clarity

With Ramazani capable of featuring on either flank, his versatility could have been a welcome addition to Clement's squad, but now City supporters will hope the club can successfully plot moves elsewhere for other targets.

Although such talk has chilled in recent weeks, another versatile winger linked with Norwich and Championship rivals, Birmingham City, has been Israeli winger, Liel Abada, who currently plies his trade for MLS outfit, Charlotte FC, under another former Carrow Road boss, Dean Smith.

Abada is, perhaps, best known for his time at Celtic, where he scored 29 times and posted a further 22 assists in 112 games.

Therefore, with Clement of the same nationality as Ramazani and previously having managerial experience in the Scottish Premiership with Rangers, even though links with his compatriot have been quashed, Norwich fans are likely to be encouraged by such links when it comes to the club's potential recruitment strategy.
