Lasarte-Oria will rally around the Copa del Rey final as Real Sociedad face Atlético de Madrid on 18 April in Sevilla. According to Diario Vasco, a 6x3 metre screen will show the match live in plaza Okendo.

A full programme will run from morning into the night and is set to continue even if it rains, with a marquee planned for attendees.

From the morning, children’s activities are scheduled, including football-themed inflatables in plaza Mercero and rides on the tren txu-txu from plaza Okendo. From 12.00, the txaranga Oaintxe in Deu will lift the mood.

Activities resume at 16.30. From 19.30, Real Sociedad supporters will gather in plaza Okendo before a joint kalejira with the txaranga through the streets.

The live screening begins at 21.00, giving those not travelling to Sevilla a way to experience the final together. The day also offers a chance to back local resident, the young Jon Martín, who could be a protagonist in the final.

Residents are encouraged to come out in cuadrillas, decorate bars and balconies, and fill the town with a Real Sociedad atmosphere. The occasion carries added emotion after the club’s last final was played behind closed doors during the pandemic.
