Ajax old boy Lasse Schöne has admitted that he is thoroughly enjoying watching his former club’s exploits this season.
The Amsterdam club are in irresistible form at the moment after battering Sporting CP 5-1 away from home in the Champions League and then demolishing Cambuur 9-0 in the Eredivisie at the weekend.
Schöne experienced the quality of Erik ten Hag’s charges first hand earlier in the season when he was part of the NEC team beaten 5-0 on the opening day of the league season.
“I did enjoy last week against Sporting, yes,” the veteran Dane said, per De Telegraaf.
“They have been playing fantastic in Europe in recent years. Also great for [Sébastien] Haller to kick in four straight away.
“I always enjoy good football. So when I see Ajax play, I get happy,” the midfielder added.
The 35-year-old spent seven years on the books at the Johan Cruyff Arena, winning three Dutch titles and a KNVB Cup during his time there.
