Following a loan spell in Türkiye, Union Berlin confirmed that László Bénes has left the club permanently to join KAA Gent ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The 28-year-old midfielder moved to the Alte Försterei in summer 2024 and now takes the next step in his career.

In his only season at Union, the Slovakia international made 25 competitive appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Seeking more minutes, he joined Kayserispor on loan in the Turkish top flight, where he scored seven goals and added two assists.

He was praised for his professionalism and contributions. It was noted that a long-term opportunity arose after the loan, and he was wished success with Gent.
