Lyon faced Monaco without Roman Yaremchuk after a late Achilles concern, and Malick Fofana featured despite ongoing ankle pain, according to Le Progres.

Yaremchuk was listed in a 22-man squad on Saturday night but did not make the matchday sheet on Sunday. Paulo Fonseca said the striker felt an Achilles problem in the final session and they waited to see how it developed, indicating it was a minor scare.

Fofana, who had ankle surgery in the autumn and received an injection a few weeks ago to manage lingering pain, felt new discomfort in the pre-match session. He was still named on the bench.

Fonseca said he brought Fofana with the group intending to use him only if he felt ready, after medical advice limited him to 10 to 15 minutes. The winger was introduced late, which also explained extended minutes for Pavel and Afonso. The coach admitted they took a risk but felt they had no other option.

Kluivert, Maitland-Niles and Nuamah could reappear after the break.

The squad will rest next week, with training only from Tuesday to Thursday.
