Dominik Greif kept a clean sheet with seven saves, including a late tip-over from Panos Katseris (90.), as the hosts managed the closing stages with control.

Half-time changes proved decisive for Les Gones, with Endrick, Corentin Tolisso and Orel Mangala introduced before the restart. Tolisso then headed a second from close range (56.).

A VAR review produced no penalty for Lorient (67.).

Lyon registered five shots on target from 11 attempts. Greif's handling under pressure underpinned a third straight league clean sheet at home.

Lorient stay ninth. Next, Les Gones visit Paris Saint-Germain, while Lorient host Marseille.
