Chelsea have been in a good place with with regards to injuries recently, but news today of fresh problems for Reece James and others brought it back to the top of the agenda in Liam Rosenior’s press conference today.

“Reece, he’s felt something in his hamstring at the end of the Newcastle game. We don’t know the full extent of the injury, but he will be out for tomorrow’s game. It could be [serious]. With a hamstring injury, it’s never great. Hopefully we can get him scanned and find out the full extent.”

The good news and the bad news from injury update

The reports that came out this afternoon claimed James could be out for weeks, this at least makes it sound like there’s a world where it’s less than that.

The even worse news was that there’s also an issue with James’ alternate at right back, Malo Gusto:

“Malo is ill today, so we’ll look at that tomorrow. With Filip [Jorgensen], he’s felt something in his groin and we will get him scanned.”

In other news…

There is frustration and growing apathy about Chelsea’s situation right now, with one podcast despairing about the same problems hurting us time and again.

Liam Delap’s last 34 shots for Chelsea in one compilation makes pretty painful viewing, let’s be honest.
