Lauren James says she has “lived her dream 100 times” after reaching 100 appearances for Chelsea.
The England international reached the landmark number during Chelsea’s 1-0 League Cup semi-final win over Manchester United.
James has been one of Chelsea’s most important players as they have dominated English football over recent seasons.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, Lauren James said she was surprised to learn that she had reached 100 appearances for the club.
She said: “I was actually surprised when I got told. It’s a massive achievement, and I’m proud of it.
‘Chelsea has been my club since I was born, and now I’m living my dream. I’ve lived it 100 times for this club. Hopefully, there are many more appearances to come.’
James added that she was looking forward to playing for another trophy in the League Cup final against Manchester United.
It could be the last time that Chelsea play for the League Cup for some time. Champions League sides won’t play in the League Cup next year.

She said: “Another final again, I’m looking forward to it. The team are looking forward to it, and hopefully we get another trophy.
“For sure, tonight will be a big confidence boost for us. There’s always belief in the dressing room that we’re more than capable of beating any team; it’s just a matter of making sure we’re on our game on the day because that’s what counts.’
“The whole team worked hard for each other, even the ones coming on, including myself. We had to dig deep. When you come on in these types of games, you’ve got to do the hard stuff instead of all the pretty, nice stuff.”
James signed for Chelsea from Manchester United back in the summer of 2021.
Her breakthrough season at Chelsea came during the 2022-23 season, where she was named as the PFA Young Player of the Year.
James has won four straight WSL titles, as well as three FA Cups and one League Cup during her time with the Blues.
The 24-year-old has also become a reliable goalscorer, netting 30 goals in her 100 appearances from the wing.
James and Chelsea have some big games to look forward to, with Arsenal this weekend, followed by a top-of-the-table clash with Manchester City on February 1st.
