Lazio are back in talks with free agents Diogo Leite, Joao Silva and Jonathan Panzo, formerly of Birmingham City, to bolster their squad, according to Sportitalia.

The transfer window is closed, yet clubs in Italy can still sign out-of-contract players. That has largely been Lazio’s summer strategy, leaving them well placed with targets still on the market.

Negotiations have resumed for Diogo Leite, a 27-year-old centre-back whose Union Berlin contract expired on June 30. A Porto academy graduate, he also played for SC Braga before joining Union Berlin in 2022.

Lazio need a defensive reinforcement after selling Alessio Romagnoli to Al-Sadd. They face competition for Leite, as Al-Ettifaq have a proposal on the table.
