Lazio are closing in on the signing of Benfica striker Franjo Ivanovic. The push comes as the club weigh up a growing bid for Petar Ratkov.

Sky Sport Italia reports that Lazio and Benfica have an agreement in place, and that Ivanovic must now choose between the Biancocelesti and Lens. La Lazio Siamo Noi adds that Lazio have moved ahead of Real Betis in the race.

Over the past 24 hours, Lazio have been in talks with Dynamo Moscow, who are intent on signing Ratkov. The Russians have raised their offer to €18 million, tempting the Biancocelesti to sell the 22-year-old signed for €13 million in January. He did not score last season under Maurizio Sarri.

Even so, Lazio will not sanction Ratkov’s exit without securing a replacement. Ivanovic joined Benfica last summer and has yet to claim a regular starting berth.

If Ivanovic does not arrive, Sassuolo’s Andrea Pinamonti is viewed as the leading alternative.
