Lazio complete deal for Alfonso Pedraza, Villarreal left-back to join in July

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Lazio sporting director Angelo Fabiani said the club have a final agreement with Villarreal defender Alfonso Pedraza, including a signed contract, and that he will join in July.

The left-back is set to depart on 31 June after seven seasons with the first team, having come through the academy. He will leave as a free agent.

Pedraza is one of four players from Villarreal’s 2021 Europa League-winning squad, alongside Gerard Moreno, Dani Parejo and Juan Foyth.

Fabiani said Lazio are seeking proven performers who can contribute immediately, complemented by youngsters with potential, and that Pedraza fits that model.

He added that the agreement was concluded quickly after talks with the player’s camp, in time for the winter window to close.
