Lazio confirm Gudmundsson dislocated shoulder on international duty | OneFootball

Lazio confirm that Albert Gudmundsson has been diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder on international duty with Iceland, while Danilo Cataldi has a new muscular issue.

The Aquile were concerned when Gudmundsson fell heavily onto his shoulder during an aerial collision in the Nations League match against Estonia on Saturday afternoon.

He was forced off the pitch just 30 minutes into the game, and returned to Rome for in-depth medical tests.

A statement from the club released today confirms the dislocation of the glenohumeral joint in his left shoulder, noting that it had been spontaneously reduced during initial treatment.

Gudmundsson will complete further tests today and then begin the rehabilitation process with daily monitoring.

There had been reports from Radio Sei and Calciomercato that the damage was worse than previously expected, suggesting he could be out of action for a month.

However, as there does not appear to be the need for surgery, this diagnosis is more reassuring and closer to two to three weeks.

Lazio also announced that midfielder Cataldi sustained a quadricep issue in training and will be monitored.

The good news is that Fisayo Dele-Bashiru returned to training with the rest of the squad.
