Josip Sutalo will make his Lazio debut against AC Milan on Saturday, with Danilho Doekhi sidelined following hand surgery.

According to Radio Laziale, the 28-year-old centre-back required immediate surgical intervention and will also miss next weekend’s match against Venezia, before returning after the extended international break.

Sutalo, 26, began the campaign with a physical issue but was on the bench for Lazio’s last two wins over Genoa and Udinese.

New signing Diogo Leite gives Gennaro Gattuso another defensive option. The left-footed Portuguese is more likely to challenge Oliver Provstgaard for a starting role in the coming weeks, while right-footed Sutalo and Doekhi compete for the other spot.

Patric remains unavailable and has been omitted from the Serie A squad list, as has Luca Pellegrini. Nicolo Rovella and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru are also out, while Danilo Cataldi has received his first call-up of the season after recovering from a groin injury.
