Maurizio's team wins at Dall’Ara on penalties against Bologna, after a 1-1 draw in regular time, and advances to the top four of the tournament.

In the first half, Bologna breaks the deadlock with a goal from Castro, who heads in from a corner taken by Moro and beats Provedel.

Lazio's response comes in the second half with Noslin, who replaced the injured Pedro: the Dutchman is served by Dele-Bashiru and only has to tap the ball into the net from inside the small area for the 1-1.

Lazio equalizes with Noslin, who came on for the injured Pedro. Marusic serves Delle-Bashiru vertically, who outruns Ferguson and delivers a perfect ball that the Dutchman only has to push into the empty net.

The former Verona player celebrated defiantly: he put his finger to his lips, likely silencing those who criticized him after the mistake against Juventus.

🚑 Pedro injury: taken to hospital

Bad news for Sarri's Lazio, losing Pedro already in the first half.

The Spaniard stays down after an unnatural movement with his ankle, following a clash with Odgaard, and can't continue: Noslin comes in his place.

As reported by Mediaset, Pedro was immediately taken to the hospital for checks on both his ankle and knee: the priority is currently to rule out any fractures.

💥 Castro lethal: Bologna in the lead!

Bologna breaks the deadlock with Santiago Castro, who scores the 1-0 with a header.

From a corner taken by Moro, the Argentine striker is the quickest of all and gets ahead of Gila, who intervenes late and fails to prevent the ball from going into the net.

🟥 Dele-Bashiru-Ferguson, was it a RED? Lazio protests

Lazio protests for an intervention by Ferguson at the last moment on Dele-Bashiru, who was through on goal.

The Scottish midfielder uses his arm to hold back the Nigerian, who falls to the ground after the contact with the opponent.

For referee Chiffi, the contact is too light and therefore there is nothing. The VAR check confirms the decision: play continues.

Provedel+BAR: Cambiaghi 😱

Bologna comes close to taking the lead immediately with Cambiaghi.

Castro in the area sets up his teammate, who shoots for sure and finds a great save from Provedel. The ball returns to the feet of number 28, who hits the crossbar on the second attempt.

The referee cancels everything and calls a foul by Castro on Gila at the start of the action.

🏆 Fabiani and Pedro: "The Coppa Italia is worth Europe"

Angelo Fabiani, Lazio's sporting director, spoke to Sport Mediaset before the match against Bologna:

"Coppa Italia? It's as important for us as it is for Bologna, we're playing for a semi-final that can mean a lot for everyone. We must aim for it and not underestimate the competition".

Pedro also reiterated the importance of the trophy for Lazio:

“It’s a chance to reach Europe if you win in the end, it’s a trophy we want to aim for”.

💥 Sartori: “We need to give more, 20 decisive days”

Giovanni Sartori, head of Bologna's technical area, spoke to Mediaset ahead of the match against Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.

“It's a particular moment. The only remedy is victory: we are the holders of the Coppa Italia and in the next 20 days, we play for everything. Starting tonight, we will do everything to win and maybe change the tide. Renewals? We've been talking for months, with some it's progressing and with others not. I don't think it's the cause of the lack of results. We definitely need a victory and maybe a bit of luck. Someone needs to give a bit more, we've made a few too many mistakes. We've also suffered some injustices. We need to reset, everything will be decided in these 20 days".
