The Biancocelesti are currently revamping their backline after selling Mario Gila to AC Milan and agreeing to sell Alessio Romagnoli to Al-Sadd (although the deal has now stalled). Danilho Doekhi arrived on a free transfer from Union Berlin, but another centre-back is required, especially with Samuel Gigot and Patric struggling for fitness.

Lazio Had an Agreement with Nordsjælland for Noah Markmann

In recent days, Lazio launched an onslaught for Markmann, a 19-year-old Danish defender who has now established himself as a regular starter at Nordsjælland. The Aquile struck an agreement with the Danish club worth €6 million plus €2 million in bonuses, but still had to convince the player and his family.

Markmann Snubs Lazio Opportunity

According to Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Markmann and his entourage decided to turn down the offer.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla also confirms that the deal has completely collapsed and that negotiations ended because the player’s father sought certain guarantees the club couldn’t provide. Markmann will now evaluate other offers, while Nordsjælland has proposed a new contract (his current deal expires in June 2027).

Who Will Be Lazio’s Next Defender?

It will be interesting to see what Lazio’s next move will be on this front. Angelo Fabiani and Gennaro Gattuso had long identified Sergi Dominguez as their top target, but they haven’t been able to find an agreement with Dinamo Zagreb. On the other hand, Fiorentina’s Pietro Comuzzo, who was considered a fallback option, is finalizing his transfer to Torino.
