According to The Laziali, Lazio’s deadline-day push to recruit Philip Otele and Yanis Begraoui has faltered, while Albert Gudmundsson will be confirmed in the coming hours.

Boulaye Dia has moved to Stade Rennais and Petar Ratkov to Levante, leaving Gennaro Gattuso seeking support for Andrea Pinamonti, who arrived in Formello last week.

On Monday night Begraoui was viewed as the favourite to sign. The 25-year-old French-Moroccan hit 20 league goals for Estoril last season, but the Portuguese club rejected an offer structured as a loan with an obligation to buy worth around €12 million.

Instead, Lazio have turned to Gudmundsson from Fiorentina. The 29-year-old has already reached Formello, with an official announcement expected shortly.

Otele will not join on loan because Basel have exhausted their loan slots. A permanent transfer was discussed but not agreed, and with Lazio’s tight budget it currently appears unlikely.
