Lazio have submitted the paperwork requested by Rome's municipality for the redevelopment of the Stadio Flaminio, marking a fresh step in their bid to make the defunct venue their future home.

The club sent the required documentation on Monday under Article 4 of Legislative Decree No. 38 of 2021. Municipal offices will now study the dossier before opening the preliminary conference of services. According to Il Messaggero, fresh outline details have also emerged.

The scheme's estimated total cost has risen from €432 million to €480 million. Plans envisage a 50,570-seat stadium, a Lazio museum and more than 4,400 parking spaces.

The City of Rome would remain the owner, while Lazio are seeking the right to manage the pre-existing structure for 90 years.

The design is intended to respect Pier Luigi Nervi’s style, with references to his studies for expansions of both the Franchi and the Flaminio. The club view the wider site as a year-round hub for supporters, with new facilities around a reconstructed ground. Lotito and his colleagues are hoping for a green light in the coming days or weeks.
