Lazio are in talks to sign Estoril striker Yanis Begraoui as they line up a replacement for Boulaye Dia.

According to The Laziali, Lazio reached full agreement with Stade Rennais on Monday for Dia’s move. The 29-year-old was cleared to travel to France for a medical ahead of a deadline-day switch on Tuesday. He will join the Ligue 1 side on loan with an option to buy for €10 million.

Gennaro Gattuso also confirmed Petar Ratkov’s departure, with the 23-year-old expected to sign for Levante. Gabriele Artistico has been sold to Padova, leaving new arrival Andrea Pinamonti as the only centre-forward available.

While veteran free agents Mauro Icardi and Joselu had been floated, Lazio instead moved for a younger profile. They are on the verge of an agreement to take Begraoui on loan for €4 million with a €9 million option to buy.

Born in France and of Moroccan heritage, Begraoui came through Etampes, then Auxerre and Toulouse, before joining Estoril in summer 2024. He scored 11 goals in 34 league games in 2024/25, then 20 in as many appearances last term, and has two in four this season. A two-footed forward, he plays primarily through the middle but can operate on either flank.
