Lazio ‘to host’ Arezzo as two friendlies planned for international break | OneFootball

Lazio will keep their rhythm during the extended international break, with Gennaro Gattuso confirming after the 2-0 win in Venice that two friendlies are planned. FIFA has merged the September and October windows into a three-week pause, so the club want minutes for non-internationals.

According to Il Messaggero, Lazio will host Arezzo on Sunday, 27 September at Formello, with kick-off at 15:00 local time, and the club could admit a small crowd rather than play behind closed doors.

Arezzo are a Tuscan side in Serie B this season. They sit 13th after two wins and three defeats from their first five league fixtures.

Lazio also intend to play the following weekend, on 4 October. The opponent has not yet been identified, though it is expected to be another Serie B team.

Gattuso will be without eight important players on international duty, Davide Frattesi, Josip Sutalo, Oliver Provstgaard, Gustav Isaksen, Christos Mandas, Nuno Tavares, Kenneth Taylor and Albert Gudmundsson.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Adam Marusic and Nicolo Rovella will use the break to regain fitness as they try to be available for the Serie A match at Monza on 11 October. Danilo Cataldi has returned to the squad in recent weeks and could make his first appearance against Arezzo.
